The Patient is the Reason We Are Here.

The innovative adult treatment program at Sundown M Ranch utilizes a multi-disciplinary team of certified counselors and medical professionals. They have three main objectives:

  • Arrest the disease of chemical dependency

  • Provide the needed support to the recovery process

  • Guide the individual back to a healthy and productive life.

The patient also learns that chemical dependency is a primary, progressive, chronic and sometimes fatal illness and not a symptom of another problem.

Individual therapy provides a personal treatment experience that helps the patient see life as it really is. Accepting the disease leads to the realization that recovery is possible and there is hope for a new life. In group therapy patients learn they are not alone. This process is the most enriching element of treatment at Sundown. In group, patients develop the skills they need for a life free of alcohol and other drugs. The core of Sundown’s treatment program is based on the principles, philosophy and values of Alcoholics Anonymous. Each patient leaves treatment with the name of an active AA member and a Sundown M Ranch graduate who is willing to take him/her to his first series of meetings.
